Congratulations to our PTA Spotlight Volunteer for May, Terri Harlow.
Terri has been volunteering her time at WES for 3 years as a room parent (1st grade Mrs. VanAntwerp, 2nd grade Mrs. Sovereign and 3rd grade Ms. Wilson's class). She has also volunteered for Book-A-Bites, Fun Fridays, Learning Experiences and Popcorn Parties. Terri helped with carnival set -up this year, and really enjoyed being the photographer at the Back Stage Party during the carnival.
Terri has acted as the Chair for the Yearbook Committee for the past 2 years. She plans on continuing with the Yearbook next year as well as joining the Executive Board in the role of VP of Fundraising.
She has this to say about her efforts at WES, “I've done the yearbook for the last 2 years and really enjoy it. It's been a great way to get to know the school and the kids. By the way, it's not too late to order one if you haven't already done so.” And, about her nomination for VP of Fundraising, “I decided to get involved with fundraising after I read Diane Williams' letter earlier this year regarding the potential cut-back in programs at the school. The kids love these programs and I would hate to see them go away. I felt like the school needed something new and exciting while raising funds for the school. In the fall, the kids will participate in the Boosterthon Fun Run and I can guarantee 100% the kids are going to have an incredible time while we will be raising funds for the PTA. “
Terri has 2 children: Anna in the 3rd grade, and Will, who will start Kindergarten next year.
Thank you, Terri! We truly appreciate your all of your hard work for our students and the school. For the month of May, Terri will have use of the "PTA Volunteer" parking spot. Please help us honor her by leaving the space available. Thank you!
