Spotlight Volunteer of the Month

Lee Ann Shanks

Congratulations and many thanks go out to our PTA Spotlight Volunteer for May, Lee Ann Shanks.

Lee Ann has been volunteering at WES for the past 7 years. She is Chairman of the Dining for Dollars program and is also active on the 5th Grade Committee. She enjoys Dining for Dollars because she feels it is a great way for everyone to see each other outside of school. Lee Ann especially enjoys when D for D is hosted at a WES parent's restaurant complete with WES staff and teachers serving! Lee Ann is also helping to plan the 5th Grade picnic and Recognition Ceremony. Her daughter, Josephine, is in 5th grade this year, and her son, Elliott, is in 6th grade.

Lee Ann is committed to volunteering at WES. It is a way for her to participate in her children's interests. She also finds personal satisfaction in working with other parents with whom she has developed lasting friendships. Thank you, Lee Ann! We truly appreciate your all of your hard work. For the month of May, Lee Ann has use of the "PTA Volunteer" parking spot. Please help us honor her by leaving the space available.
