Spotlight Volunteer of the Month Heather Blythe Congratulations to our PTA Spotlight Volunteer for March, Heather Blythe. Heather has quite a list of volunteer activities to her credit, they include: helping in the classrooms with Fun Fridays, popcorn parties and book-a-bites; she served as Room Parent for Mrs. Gagliano’s 2nd grade class and is now Assistant Room Parent for Ms. Morrison’s 3rd grade class; she has worked on several PTA committees including Carnival, Jump Rope for the Heart, Field Day and Book Fair; and, she has served as Co-Chair of Newsletter Distribution for 2 years, and Chair of the Talent Show for 3 years. Heather has twin daughters at WES, Paige and Megan. They are in 3rd grade. When asked to comment on her Talent Show efforts at WES, this was Heather’s reply: “I have enjoyed my time volunteering every year at WES. Every little bit you do means so much to each child and they show it with enthusiastic greetings every time you show up in school. I took over the Talent Show Chair position 2 years ago. It needed some reorganization to streamline it and make it easy for everyone and fun for the kids! Our 4th and 5th grade kids really look forward to this event. It means a great deal to me that we can get it together every year and give them the opportunity to "strut their stuff" for their friends and family. It is during rehearsal that you really get a glimpse at how great our children are! Rehearsal is stressful! Every child in that auditorium is cheering and clapping and encouraging each other through their performance! If I see the future in that auditorium. . . we will be just fine!! For those of you considering how you can volunteer? If you are limited on time, there are many small things that you can do from home, with minimal time spent in school that can make a huge difference! Just ask!” Thank you, Heather! We truly appreciate your all of your hard work for our students and our school. For the month of March, Heather will have use of the "PTA Volunteer" parking spot.
